The Maya Forest Iconic Place

The Maya Forest Iconic Place: Conserving Forests and Enhancing Livelihoods through Holistic Systems Change.

In the tropical forests and waters that gave rise to the mighty Mayan civilization, an inclusive, resilient and sustainable low-carbon economy is underway. Communities, government, businesses and organizations are coming together to implement regenerative farming, forestry, fishing and aquaculture that protect ecosystems and resources – and scaling these practices through policy and market frameworks. Together, we are transitioning the Maya Forest and Mesoamerican Reef into a place that future generations can use and enjoy.
